Set of six chairs model “Medea” designed by Vittorio Nobili in collaboration with Tagliabue Fratelli in the 1950s, one of the most recognizable projects of postwar Italian design. The model was born from the encounter between the architects’ design creativity and the craftsmanship knowledge of the industries in Brianza, particularly the Tagliabue Fratelli cabinetmaker’s shop, with which Sediamedea experimented with new techniques of curved woodworking. The chair features a shaped and curved mahogany shell with a fluid and enveloping line, free of edges and designed to follow the natural inclination of the body. The design is distinguished by a refined balance of solids and voids. The seat rests on slender black metal legs, which create an elegant contrast between materials. The chair received an Honorable Mention at the Compasso d’Oro in 1956, a recognition that established its value in the panorama of Italian design. Good condition. They may show signs of aging.
