Bench model “Tokyo” designed by Yngvar Sandström for NK – Nordiska Kompaniet in the second half of the 1960s. The solid oak frame is distinguished by the linear rhythm of the slats and the ring design of the legs. The curved profile of the base joint introduces a more sculptural and international sensibility than the stricter Nordic minimalism, reflecting the openness of 1960s Scandinavian design to Japanese influences and organic forms. Present original manufacturer’s label under the seat. Good condition. May show signs of aging. Please pay attention to photographs.
