Rocking chair designed in the 1940s by Yngve Ekström for ESE Möbler, a Swedish company founded by Ekström himself with his brother Jerker. The curved beech frame draws a continuous, light profile with arched armrests that accompany the movement of the skates, expressing a refined synthesis of technique and form. The seat and back are made with a textile ribbon weave, probably a cotton or mixed fiber webbing, typical of Scandinavian production of the period. The fabric is in excellent condition and enhances the graphic texture of the weave. Yngve Ekström was a central figure in Swedish modernism: his work is based on the idea of democratic, functional and affordable furniture that combines comfort, quality craftsmanship and industrial production. This rocking chair fully reflects his philosophy, with organic lines, structural balance, and an understated yet welcoming aesthetic. Good condition. May show some signs of aging. Please pay attention to the photographs.
