Iconic “VP Globe” suspension lamp designed by Verner Panton in 1969 for Louis Poulsen (early production specimen, early 1970s). The transparent PMMA sphere is composed of two half-shells joined on the equator; inside is Panton’s luminous micro-landscape: a sequence of aluminum baffles with rolled edges – blue at the top and red at the bottom – suspended by metal chains, with the polished hourglass-shaped reflective element in the center. The E27 lamp holder is placed in the center: the light is not direct but bounces off the baffles, offering a soft, enveloping emission. Lower spherical finial and chrome-plated central stem complete the structure; vintage rosette and wiring. Original working electrical system.
Good condition. May show signs of age (slight micro-scratches on the sphere and minimal signs of use consistent with age). Pay attention to photographs.
