Folding dining table, “slagbord” type, produced in the 1950s by Skaraborgs Möbelindustri, a historic manufacturer in Tibro, Sweden, a center known for quality craftsmanship in wood production. The manufacturer’s original label is present on the inside.
“Slagbords” originated in Scandinavian tradition as domestic work tables: versatile, folding surfaces to free up space in rural homes. In the twentieth century this type is reinterpreted in a modernist key, maintaining functionality and formal restraint. The top can be opened fully or on one side only; each extension measures 62 cm, and when fully extended, the table reaches 168 cm in length. The slender legs and essential profile reflect the Nordic aesthetic of the period, where practicality and proportion coexist in balance. Good condition. May show some signs of aging.
