“Capella” model designed by Illum Wikkelsø for CFC Silkeborg in the 1960s. The rosewood frame works by subtraction, with sharp lines and light proportions that highlight the construction of the furniture and the depth of the grain. The sloping crosspiece backrest and full armrests introduce an architectural component typical of the work of Wikkelsø, a designer known for combining comfort and formal rigor in postwar Danish design. Capitonné cushions in black leather accentuate the textural contrast with the wood, maintaining the understated character of the model. Good condition. May show some signs of aging.
