Scandinavian bookcase from the mid-twentieth century made of solid pine, a testament to essential Northern European production linked to the use of local materials. The structure is defined by full side shoulders and a series of adjustable shelves, set in a regular rhythm that enhances the marked grain of the wood. The design, devoid of applied decorative elements, relies on the textural quality of pine and clarity of construction. The ensemble reflects a more restrained and functional phase of Scandinavian design, predating the spread of teak, in which softwood is used directly and unmediated, maintaining an authentic and domestic character.
