Scandinavian elm chest of drawers dating from the 1940s-1950s, an expression of understated and functional Nordic taste. The front is punctuated by three wide drawers with a double row of bakelite handles in the characteristic floral corolla shape, a discreet but distinctive decorative detail. The slightly tapered legs end in brass ferrules that visually lighten the structure and add a refined note. The warm elm grain and compact proportions reflect the quality popular production of Northern Europe after World War II, where practicality and formal measure coexist in balance. Good condition.
