Danish 1950s chest of drawers designed by Børge Mogensen for Søborg Møbelfabrik, one of the most significant collaborations in the production of postwar Scandinavian design. The cabinet is made of teak veneer, with a raised frame on a solid oak base. The juxtaposition of the two essences is most visible in the legs, which are characterized by darker tips, a recurring detail in some productions of the period. The front is organized into six drawers, characterized by integrated handles carved into the wood. The interior construction shows dovetail joints, a detail that highlights careful workmanship and quality production. Børge Mogensen is known for an approach based on functionality, durability and simple construction. This model clearly reflects these principles, with understated solutions designed for everyday use. Good condition. May show some signs of aging. Please pay attention to the photographs.
