Designed by Bertil Fridhagen for Bodafors in 1964, this bookcase reflects very well the Swedish design sensibility of the 1960s: light structures, warm materials, and a very studied balance between open and closed parts. The composition alternates open shelves, storage compartments and an upper display case with glass doors, creating an extremely graphic visual rhythm without being heavy. Particularly interesting is the contrast between the light oak and olive green interior elements, a detail that gives depth and character to the whole. The handles and slender uprights maintain the clean, linear design typical of Bodafors production of this period. Original manufacturer’s label present. Good condition. May show some signs of age.
